Club Night Points System
Swimmers earn points for every race they compete in. These are tallied across the season and used to determine the Points Champion trophies at the end of the year.
Points are calculated based on each swimmer’s race time compared to their personal best (PB). The system is designed to encourage ongoing improvement, not just fastest times.
Notes:
- The first time a swimmer competes in any stroke or special event is considered a time trial and earns 4 points.
- Moving from a 25 m to a 50 m event is also considered a time trial and earns 4 points.
Points for all other swims are awarded as follows:
| Time relative to PB | Points |
|---|---|
| More than 2.50 sec slower | 1 |
| 1.51 – 2.50 sec slower | 2 |
| 0.51 – 1.50 sec slower | 3 |
| 0.00 – 0.50 sec slower | 4 |
| Equal personal best | 4 |
| 0.00 – 0.50 sec faster | 4 |
| 0.51 – 1.50 sec faster | 5 |
| 1.51 – 2.50 sec faster | 6 |
| More than 2.50 sec faster | 7 |
