Season 22/23 Welcome Letter

Dear Crocs Members,

The Camp Hill Crocs 22/23 Season is nearly upon us. This year is an exciting year for the club as we reach the pool's 60th Anniversary in 2023. It promises to be a big season.

As members of the 2021/22 season, I am writing to you to advise registrations are now open for the upcoming 2022/23 season and can be accessed through the club web site (www.camphillswim.club). We hope to see you all back for more fun at the Crocoseum in term 4. The first Club Night is scheduled for Friday the 7th of October.

We are excited to advise that this year we have been able to add an online payment option to the registration process. All payment details including a link to the online payment web site is provided in the welcome e-mail upon completion of the registration process.

During the off season some work has been done on the web site, we welcome you to take a look. The club handbook has been moved online and other areas reorganised to try and make navigation easier. As part of this, the web site now only caters for registration with the swim club. All learn to swim and squad registrations are to be done through Rollason In Swim. Details outlining this can be viewed on the web site.

This season we have made changes to the schedule, moving the Individual Medley night to the end of the season in March to create a Club Championship weekend. Please pencil into your diaries now the 24th and 25th of March 2023. The Individual Medley will be held on the Friday and Age Stroke Championships on the Saturday. Moving the Individual Medley to the end of the season allows all members, whether they start in October or January the chance to compete in both championships.

We have also modified the participation requirements for Individual Medley. This year there will be four individual medley special events held across the season on club nights and these particular special events are open to all swimmers. For swimmers to participate in the Individual Medley Championship, they must have successfully completed one of these Club Night medley special events. This is to ensure they can achieve the distance as well as allow swimmers a chance to practice prior to the Championship night and gain confidence. On these Club Nights there will be only three stroke events (backstroke, freestyle, breaststroke) after the special event due to the larger nominations expected for the special event. As always swimmers can choose what events they wish to nominate in and on these Club Nights, a younger swimmer is welcome to just participate in the special event.

This season will also see the introduction of participation recognition awards. These are special swim caps awarded to swimmers after achieving a certain number of meets with the club (club nights, championship nights and carnivals). Details are outlined in the club handbook on the web site. A current count of meets attended for swimmers from last season and for all seasons from 2010 is viewable in the Season 2022/23 Results.

We look forward to seeing you all on the 7th October. If you know of other families interested in joining the CROCS feel free to pass on this e-mail
