Crocs Weekly Email - Week 18
Dear Croc Families,
Thank you to the School and a few Committee members who assisted with last week’s clean up of the pool area 👏👏👏. The pool area looked fabulous on Friday night. We hope you all noticed how amazing the posts looked too as the School had arranged for rust removal, protection and a repaint of all the posts in the pool area.
Congratulations to our Crocs Club Captains and Vice Captains who ran last week’s “Captains’ Carnival”. It was a fun afternoon and the swimmers had a great time as the Warriors defeated the Wizards.
This week is our last “standard” club night – see below for further details – and it is also the last chance for our swimmers to practice their Individual Medley (IM) in preparation for IM Night next week.
Nominations are now open for this week’s Club Night until 430pm on Friday at www.camphillswim.club/swim_meets or via the SwimTopia App. As usual if nominations have closed and you are no longer able to swim please contact Jimmy/Mark at [email protected] or 0401077981.
We are now heading towards the Season end and with that in Week 9 (next week) we host a culmination of our final competitions, the “Club Age Championships” which are split into 2 days of competition.
Individual Medley Night will be held on Friday (of Week 9) where IM will be the only event of the evening. Nominations will close as usual at 430pm on Friday of Week 9.
- For IM there is just one option to select for each swimmer for their specific IM age group.
- Note swimmers must have qualified to participate in this event by swimming at least 1 x IM special event during the season.
- Please note that 11 years and under swim the 100m IM, whilst 12 years+ swim the 200m IM.
- This is a competition and certificates and medals will be awarded on the night.
Age Stroke Championships will be held on the Saturday (of Week 9) which is open to all Club swimmers. Nominations will close on Week 9 Friday at 430pm for this event.
- Swimmers will swim each stroke in their age group as determined by their age at the end of the calendar year.
- 9 years and under will swim 25m events; and
- 10 years and up will compete in 50m events.
- Note, for swimmers 10 years and older who would like to swim 25m for any particular stroke a race will be included to allow this, however please note it will not count towards Age Championships points. When nominating please add details in the “notes for coach” box please.
- This is a Championship event where medals will be awarded to first, second and third.
** Nominations for both events are now open at www.camphillswim.club/swim_meets or via the SwimTopia App and will close at 430pm on the Friday of Week 9.
** More information can be found at www.camphillswim.club/club-championships
In Week 10, there will be no Club Night, however we have our Crocs Season Break Up Party and Presentation Night on Wednesday, 2 April.
For those new to the club, we have a pizza meal deal for families to collect from the pool area (around 5.15ish) with the presentations commencing at 530pm, where we celebrate each swimmer’s achievements. This is then followed by a dessert and a free play swim if time allows.
There is no entry fee and no BBQ but the canteen will be serving whatever we have left in stock.
Families can pre-order pizza’s (meal deal) as per the attached Pizza Order Form.
- You can complete the form and pay at the pool canteen; Or
- You can order and pay online at https://camp-hill-state-school-p-c-association---amateur-swimming-club.square.site/trophy-night-pizza-orders Please note if you choose to do an online order:
- Can you please note your “FamilynamePizza” eg. “SmithPizza” as order reference; and
- Can you please also email proof of payment and your order to [email protected]
Can you assist with Pizza collection? We will require several volunteers to collect the pizzas from Dominoes at Camp Hill on the evening at 5pm. If you can assist please reach out to Jimmy at [email protected] or email Deanne at [email protected]
We also ask each family to bring a dessert plate to share . We usually sit these out on a table / at the canteen after the presentations have concluded and people can help themselves. Individual servings are best and can be home bake or store bought, thank you.
As many of you would have seen we circulated a poll earlier this year to see if we would continue with trophies for each swimmer or move to medals. Overwhelmingly medals won. So, for this season all swimmers will receive a medal with their points along with a certificate of their times. Trophies will only be awarded for specific achievements.
Finally are you interested in joining the Committee? Our AGM will be held during our off season and we will share more information with regards to dates. Meanwhile if you would like to learn more please reach out to a Committee member as we have some members stepping down so we need you, thank you.
Phew that was a long one but we wanted to share this vital information with you all. Well done on getting to the end. If you have any queries please don’t hesitate to ask. Now don’t forget to nominate, order your pizza meal deal and let us know if you can assist with pizza collection please.
