Crocs Newsletter Week 3

Hello Croc Families,

Thank you for your patience with the electrical fault last week and to all our amazing volunteers – for some it was their first club night ever! – and our swimmers for working with no marshalling screens. A special thanks to Anne and Eleni for marshalling all swimmers old school style! And to our nominators, Mark and Jimmy for facing these extra challenges with such grace, thank you.

Congratulations to Katie for winning our volunteer raffle for Week 1. Katie is often found timekeeping on a Friday night, thanks Katie for all your support of our swimmers and Club. Are you our next raffle winner? Sign up now to volunteer at this week’s club night and whilst your online can you help at the carnival for one shift? Hint - only online volunteer sign ups will be included in our volunteer raffles each week this term … and we won’t be commencing club nights without all volunteer roles being filled, so have a sneak peak and sign up now (and get your name in the drawer) at www.camphillswim.club/swim_meets

Final shout-outs this week …

  • Have you ordered your Club Shirt yet? Orders will close this Friday 24 October at 8pm sharp! Alisha will be taking final orders at the pool on Friday night and yes for those who have been asking, absolutely, shirts are available for swimmers and their support crew/families.
  • Last chance to nominate for next week’s Club Night, on Friday 31 October (also known as Halloween) as if we don’t have enough swimmers and volunteers we will need to cancel the event. A decision will be made by this Friday’s Club Night, so get in quick and sign up here www.camphillswim.club/swim_meets
  • Any remaining medals/trophies from last season will be at the pool this week only! If you can’t get there, please reach out to Nat at [email protected] to arrange collection, thank you.
  • Have you downloaded the SwimTopia App yet? It allows you to nominate, volunteer, view your swimmers’ times and run sheets.

Nominations – and volunteer sign up - are now open for this week’s Club Night until 430pm on Friday at www.camphillswim.club/swim_meets or via the SwimTopia App. If nominations have closed and you are no longer able to swim please contact Mark at [email protected] or 0401077981, thank you.

Whilst nominating, we have our first carnival, the Principals Cup, with Marshall Road and Mayfield being hosted by us, at the Croc-o-seum on Saturday 8 November at 230pm (gates open from 2pm). Please note that nominations will close at 3pm next Saturday, 1 November!

  • As we are hosting please consider signing up to volunteer when nominating your swimmers (we have 2 split shifts over the carnival).
  • There will be a parent race and you can make note of your interest to participate in the sign up notes.
  • Club Caps are mandatory on carnival days. Your swimmer can wear a milestone Crocs Cap – ie, 25, 50 or 100 – or you can purchase Croc Caps from the pool canteen on club nights.

Meanwhile, this Friday is our first sibling (tiny tots) race of the season. If your little one would like to participate, please have them ready in their swimmers and caps (goggles optional) at the block end of the pool for a 620pm start. Our wonderful Captains will co-ordinate these races and are happy to offer as much (or little) support as needed from offering noodles, kickboards or swimming alongside them.

We will also be holding a“Squares” raffle this week,so please bring cash$ along to buy a numbered square with the prize being cash$! We will have a $5 and a $10 square raffle available to families at the entry gate.

A reminder that we have “prepaid entry cards” available at the entry gate each week. These will give you 10 weeks of entry. Last season’s cards are still valid too!

Finally if you have any photos from club nights or carnivals please send them to us at [email protected] and/or [email protected] so that we can check the photo consent before adding to our socials and photo display at the pool, thank you.

See you poolside,

Swim with the Crocs!
