Crocs - Week 20 - Newsletter

Dear Croc Families,

Wow! What a weekend our Crocs Team have had! Congratulations to all swimmers and to those swimmers below who broke “Age Champ” records on Saturday.

  • 6y Boys 25m Breaststroke – Louis E
  • 7y Boys 25m Breaststroke – Tommy P
  • 9y Girls 25m Butterfly – Demi W
  • 10y Girls 50m Freestyle – Evie F
  • 10y Girls 50m Backstroke – Evie F

We also congratulate the following swimmers who attended the Queensland School Swimming State Championship last week – Chloe W, Evie F, Emilie W, Tallie S, Jack P – and congratulate Michael M who recently broke the Australian Records for the Under 11 80m Hurdles! Wow!

We also thank, you, our volunteers, for another fantastic swim season. Without your assistance we couldn’t operate the Club, so thank you to each of you. I’m sure all our swimmers appreciate your time and effort.

Congratulations to our new Crocs Committee for the season ahead. We all appreciate you stepping into these roles to help keep the Club operational. We’ll see you on the 5th of May at our AGM and General Committee Meeting – all members are welcome to join us. The Committee details will be shared with all members after this meeting.

We are still seeking 2 people to take over the Nominations and Back End Data role. Mark has updated all systems and believes this will require 1½ hours each week commitment. It would be useful to have an interest in IT systems for the back-end data but not critical, so grab a friend and come along to our meeting or reach out to one of our current committee members. See you there.

Meanwhile with racing now complete, this week is full of celebration with the Presentation Night and End of Season Party this Wednesday 1 April.

  • Gates will open at 5pm (no entry fees)
  • There is no parking in the pool car park for this event for the safety of OSHC students and staff. The Ferguson Road car park will be open as usual or street parking is available.
  • Pizza’s should arrive at 5.15pm(ish) and once ready an announcement will be made for you to collect from the BBQ area.
  • Presentations begin at 5.30pm
  • Every swimmer will receive a medal and a certificate highlighting their improvements throughout the season. We will also be presenting other special awards/trophies throughout the evening.
  • Bring a sweet treat to place on our dessert share table – these can be dropped into the canteen on your way in and can be homemade or store purchased.
  • If you forgot to put your pizza order in, please reach out to Deanne at [email protected] as soon as possible please and we’ll see what we can do.

See you pool side,

Swim with the Crocs!
